Day 1: Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar you will be greeted by your guide and driver and transferred to a hotel. Half and full day tours are available. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2; Lake Khukh Nuur. 215 km

After an early breakfast drive to Khukh Nuur, 215 km from Ulaanbaatar. Have a lunch and camp in Khukh Nuur tourist camp which is located near Khukh Nuur. Khukh Nuur is known as the location where Temujin was bestowed with the title `Chinggis Khaan`. After lunch visit the lake and explore Khar Zurkhen Mountain. A historian would give a speech about Chinggis Khaan’s life, which is specific to this area. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (L/D)

Day 3: Binder soum. 220 km

This morning drive to Binder soum, 220 km from Lake Khukh Nuur. We will see Uglugchiin Kherem Wall which is 3km in length, is made entirely of stones without the use of mortar. Today it stands 3.1 meters tall at its highest point and there are approximately 60 tombs near the wall. Oglochiin Kherem may be a burial place of great historical Mongol figures, such as Chinggis Khaan or Khubilai Khaan. Picnic lunch and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Dadal. 120 km

In the morning drive to Chinggis Khaan’s birthplace, Dadal soum, 120km away from Binder soum. The journey will follow the banks of Onon river. Keep your cameras handy and catch the photo opportunities along the way. Arrive in a ger camp, which is close to Chinggisiin Gurvan Lake. In the afternoon visit a Buriad family and experience unique culture of this ethnic group. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Dadal

Explore the birthplace of Chinggis Khaan, Deluun Boldog and Chinggisiin Gurvan Lake, a historical will take you on a journey to Chinggis Khan’s period. Afterwards, visit the Chinggis Khaan’s Monument. In the afternoon enjoy horse riding in the steppes. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 6: Undurkhaan. 260 km

Drive to the center of Khentii province, Undurkhaan, 260 km from Dadal soum. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 7: Khuduu Aral. 135 km

Drive to Khuduu Aral, 135 km from Undurkhaan. Khuduu Aral is the place where the “Secret History of the Mongols” was written in 1240. In the area archeologists found the ruins of ancient city Aurag. After lunch, explore the Chinggis Khaan’s monument and the ruins of Aurag city. It is believed that Chinggis Khaan used to drink from the natural mineral springs near the ruins. Dinner and overnight stay in a ger camp. (B/L/D)

Day 8: XIII century park. 150 km

In the morning we will drive to XIII century park. The complex covers area of 15 by 15 km. It consists of 6 camps and tribes which are very unique on their own. Everything is built in a XIII century fashion. It will be an unforgettable experience of Mongol History. Overnight stay in a ger camp (B/L/D)

Day 9: Ulaanbaatar. 96 km

Drive back to Ulaanbaatar for 96 km. On the way visit Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex. Transfer to your hotel after arrival in Ulaanbaatar. Overnight stay in a hotel. (B)

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for an international departure.

Highlights

Chinggis Khaan statue complex

Tourists may have a great feeling when they step in the homeland of Chinggis Khaan, but currently, there are almost no museums, memorials, displays about him. Therefore, the company gives and importance to the construction of this historical and cultural complex as one of the means to publicize our country to the world area

Khar Zurkhnii Khukh lake

This lake is situated near Tsenkher River 35km north from the main road in eastern region and northwest from Tsenkhermandal Soum, Khentii Aimag. A fresh watered Lake Khukh which consists of 2 lakes, linked underground, is located on south of Mount Kharzurkh 1675m above sea level. Area around the lake is a place of natural beauty surrounded by a mountain and is abundant of various species of animal and vegetation. In this place Temuujin was enthroned as a king of united tribes of Mongolia and titled as “Genghis khan” which means Oceanic great king in 1189.

Khuduu aral

This is a historically important place where Ikh Khuraldai used to take place and Ugudei, Munkh, Yesuntumur khaans were enthroned as a king. There are several lakes including Lake Khuduu, Lake Toson, Lake Zamag and Lake Tsagaan. 7 small hills (Durvuljin, Suul, Ikh Ulaan Tolgoy, Baga Ulaan Tolgoy, Olon Ovoo and Takhilgat Gatsaa) are situated on a sunny side of Mount Kherlenbayan. Scientists believe that the place called Doloon Boldog in The Secret History of Mongols refers to these 7 small hills.

13th Century complex

Due to this, it brought further idea of creating “Bichil Khant uls” (Small Kingdom) project. The “13th Century” complex has the environment of tourism attractions, ger camps, farms, statues and traditional entertainment areas, all in real lifestyle of 13th century era. Within this country, the rule of the law is strong and there is no television, electricity and phones are allowed for the real experience as the purpose of the 13th Century theme park is built and established in real time micro kingdom of the 13th Century to make the real experiences for the tourists during their stay by genuinely providing true environment of the way of living. This is the only camp in Mongolia where you can visit the old time micro kingdom of Chinggis Khaan and his empire.

Uglugchiin kherem

It is situated in the Daichin mountain pass with a forest of pine and larch 45km southwest from Batshireet Soum, Khentii Aimag and 8-10km from confluence of Ugluch and Bayangol rivers. Uglugchiin Kherem is a fortress of neatly placed stone propped up against the mountain. It is 2.5-3m high, 2,5m wide and approximately 3km long. 2 gate traces have left in the front section. There are some remains of rolled-earth dams inside the fortress, but some of them are barely distinguished from the ground. However, there weren’t any traces of building. A terrace of clay just attached to inside of the fortress is regarded to be a platform where the 12th-14th century archers stood on.

Your holiday contract

When you book a tour or other travel arrangements our contract with you takes effect when we send you a written confirmation /by info@tourmongolia.com this e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Once contract is made we are responsible for providing you with the tour you have booked and you are responsible to pay us for it, in each case subject to terms and conditions.

Please note

It is important to check carefully the written confirmation of your booking when you receive it, or if booking are late that all the details are exactly as you requested. Our responsibility is to provide you with the service you have booked as described in the itinerary and as confirmed to you. In parties of two or more people, the person who makes the tour booking by signing our booking form or otherwise contracting with us, accepts responsibility for making all payments to us for all members of the party. We will send all documents and other information to that person who will in turn be responsible for ensuring that the other members of the party are kept fully informed. If you are aged under 18 /on the date of departure/ and your parents of guardians are not travelling with you, they must write to us with their consent.

Prices

Once you have confirmed your booking the price of your tour is guaranteed and will not be subject to any surcharge.

Payments

Payment of the price of your tour is due: a/ If you decide to book your tour program, we require you to pay 100 percent more than 3.5-4 months prior to departure.b/ Payment can be made by bank wire transfer. Bank details will be given to you in advance with our invoice.

Special requests

If you have any special request that does not form part of the tour as described in the itinerary /for example, dietary requirements or room location/ please let us know. We will always try to meet such requests, but cannot guarantee to do so. In no circumstances will such requests, be accepted by us to form part of our contractual obligations and we will not have a liability if they are not met.

Changes

If you want to change any of the details of your booking after we have sent you confirmation we will do our best to help. You must confirm any change in writing to us. /We recommend that letters are sent by e-mail/. If we are able to make the change there will be a charge. If you wish to make any changes whole on tour /e.g. upgrading your accommodation and staying alone in a Ger in the tourist camp/ all requests are subject to availability and any extra fees must be paid.

Cancellations

Cancellation will be calculated as set out below and will be notified to you by mail or e-mail within a week of cancellation. When the cancellation letter is received by us prior to departure charges as per person: More than 8 weeks – 15 percent only Less than 8 weeks – 30% of the tour fare Less than 6 days – 100% of the tour fare

Complaints

If you have a complaint while you are on tour you must tell immediately your tour leader and guide, who will make every effort to resolve them. They will complete a report form with you giving details of your complaint and the action taken resolve it and you should keep a copy of this to keep. If after your tour, you will feel a complaint remains unresolved, you must tell Tour Mongolia about it in writing within 30 days. Complaints regarding any services not directly connected with Tour Mongolia, should be raised with the relevant supplier.

Liabilities

We accept full liability for the proper performance of our obligations under our agreement with you for the provision of your tour. If you suffer damage by our failure to perform or, our improper performance of our agreement with you for the provision of your tour we accept liability except in the following circumstances. a/ If the failure or improper performances was due to the acts or omissions of the persons affected, or those of someone else not connected with the provision of your tour, and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable, or an event which either we or the supplier of the services in question could not have foreseen or avoided even with all the due care. b/ If the failure or improper performances is your fault or the fault of any member of your party. We will not be liable for failure of performance or improper performance of the services and any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay of the transport, caused by force majeure. This means things beyond our control such us civil unrest, riot, government restriction, industrial dispute excluding our own employees, Act of god /such as natural disaster/, fire, disease or adverse weather conditions. Before the commencement of the tour, you must arrange your own insurance with an insurer, with protection for the full duration of the tour, to cover personal injury, medical expanses, repatriation expenses, loss of baggage and the expenses associated with cancellation or curtailment of the tour. If you become ill during the tour, all hospital expenses, doctors’ fees and repatriation costs are your responsibility and we shall not be liable for any refund of the tour cost.
